On the morning of June 23, Fuzhou Changle International Airport held a ceremony to mark the opening of its second runway and the first commercial flight of Xiamen Airlines' new Fuzhou-Amsterdam route. This is the carrier's second premium intercontinental service out of Fuzhou, following its Fuzhou-New York route.
The first flight under the flight number MF813/MF814 and operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner, took off from the newly commissioned second runway. Regular scheduled operations will commence on June 27 with two weekly flights every Wednesday and Saturday. Outbound flight departs Fuzhou at 12:15, arrives in Amsterdam at 18:30 local time. Inbound flight departs Amsterdam at 21:30 local time, and lands in Fuzhou at 14:45 the next day. The journey takes roughly 11 hours, slashing travel time significantly compared with connecting flights. It delivers a seamless travel option for business travelers, tourists and overseas Chinese heading back to Fujian.
