Starting September 6, Xiamen Airlines will launch non-stop passenger flights between Xiamen and London Heathrow Airport. This marks Fujian Province's first direct air link to London, putting an end to the era of transfer-only travel between Fujian and the UK and filling the gap of direct flights from Fujian to major aviation hubs in the UK. The new route will serve as an efficient, convenient air bridge connecting Fujian to core European markets.
Operated under flight numbers MF821 and MF822 by Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft, the service runs three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Xiamen-London flight departs at 00:50 and arrives at 06:35, while the London-Xiamen flight departs at 12:35 and arrives at 07:00 (all times local).
