On June 29, Air China Limited (Air China) and Singapore Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on joint venture cooperation in Beijing. It marks a new phase of partnership between the two carriers, aimed at strengthening strategic synergy and offering passengers traveling between China, Singapore and wider regions more diverse, seamless travel options.
Subject to regulatory approvals, Air China and Singapore Airlines will jointly optimize flight schedules, expand their existing code-share partnership and roll out joint marketing initiatives. By improving flight connections and transfer procedures, the carriers will streamline transfer efficiency and elevate the overall travel experience for passengers connecting via China or Singapore. They will also deepen frequent flyer cooperation. Building on existing Star Alliance benefits, members of Air China's Phoenix Miles and Singapore Airlines' KrisFlyer will earn more mileage rewards and access exclusive privileges, gaining access to an expanded global route network and premium travel services. Additionally, the two airlines will share expertise in ground handling, in-flight catering and cabin service to continuously upgrade service standards.
