To mark the 40th anniversary of regular air transport connections between China and Italy, Air China added a new European route with the first commercial flight of its direct Beijing-Venice service on July 2.
The route operates every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Its finely optimized schedules cater to tourists heading to Venice and those transferring onward within Europe. Leveraging Beijing's status as an international aviation hub, the service enables seamless connections between domestic and international flights in China. It offers Chinese and Italian travelers more flexible travel alternatives and injects fresh momentum into cultural and tourism development between the two nations. The Beijing-Venice route further expands Air China's European network, building a more accessible aerial corridor for China-Europe economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges.
The first China-Italy air route linking Beijing and Rome was launched in 1986, opening a new chapter for bilateral trade communication and mutual learning of culture. Since then, Air China has steadily expanded its footprint in the Italian market, launching eight air routes including Beijing-Milan-Rome, Shanghai-Milan-Rome, Hangzhou-Rome and Wenzhou-Milan, greatly facilitating cross-border travel between the two countries. To date, Air China serves 25 destinations across Europe with nearly 260 weekly flights.
