Air Canada recently announced that it will launch a direct route between Vancouver, Canada, and Guangzhou, China, in the summer of 2027, further expanding its China route network.
Starting May 4, 2027, Air Canada will begin operating direct Guangzhou–Vancouver flights, with three weekly services. Guangzhou will then become Air Canada's fourth destination in China. Air Canada currently operates daily direct flights to Vancouver from Hong Kong SAR, Beijing, and Shanghai in China; in the summer of 2027, its direct Shanghai–Toronto service will also increase to one daily flight.
At present, Air Canada operates up to 24 weekly flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, plus 7 weekly flights to Hong Kong SAR. Its Guangzhou–Vancouver route will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring Signature Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
