On October 12, China Southern Airlines Flight CZ8095, carrying 224 passengers, officially inaugurated the Guangzhou–Changsha–Addis Ababa route. This is currently the only route operated by a Chinese carrier serving Ethiopia.

The new route is operated by a Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft, with two flights per week on Mondays and Fridays. Outbound flight CZ8095 departs Guangzhou at 10:10 Beijing time, arrives at the stopover point Changsha at 11:35, departs Changsha at 13:50, and arrives in Addis Ababa at 20:00 local time. Return flight CZ8096 departs Addis Ababa at 23:00 local time, arrives at the stopover point Changsha at 15:10 Beijing time the following day, departs from Changsha at 17:10, and arrives in Guangzhou at 18:45.
