On August 2, during his survey visit in northeast China, CAAC Administer Feng Zhenglin met with Secretary of Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee Zhang Qingwei and Heilongjiang Provincial Governor Lu Hao, and exchanged views on how to further promote the development of civil aviation in the province. CAAC Deputy Administrator Wang Zhiqing, Heilongjiang Provincial Standing Committee Member and Vice-Governor Li Haitao and Provincial Standing Committee Member and Secretary-General Zhang Yupu were present at the meeting.

It is learned that in the first half of this year, there were 83 000 aircraft movements, 10.701 million person-times traffic, and 62 000 tons of cargo & mail handled in total in Heilongjiang Province, representing year-on-year increases of 12%, 16.3% and 1.1% respectively. Harbin Airport had 67 000 aircraft movements, passenger traffic of 9.156 million, and 59 000 tons of cargo & mail handled, with respective year-on-year increases of 12.6%, 16.3% and 1%. The passenger traffic at Harbin Airport ranked first in China’s northeast region.
