From September 13 to14, the Second Annual Seminar on General Aviation was held in Beijing by China-U.S. Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) with the theme of Operation Safety of General Aviation. Over 200 delegates from CAAC, FAA, ACP, USTDA and general aviation enterprises of China and other industry players of the United States attended the seminar.
Topics such as safety management and operation management were discussed at the seminar. In the meanwhile, delegates also deliberated on the application of satellite navigation and digital information technologies in general aviation, explored the possibilities of achieving leap-forward development in general aviation by adoption of new progress and achievements in science and technology.
Before the event, CAAC and U.S. partner of ACP signed a memorandum of understanding on the cooperation in aviation safety aiming at effectively promoting the sustained and stable development of civil aviation industry in China. Based on the MoU, CAAC has carried out many important activities in relation to the development of general aviation and safety under ACP. In January of 2017, CAAC initiated the fifth phase projects for ACP, which covers a wide range of areas including the safety of general aviation designed to give an impetus to the development of general aviation.
China-U.S. Aviation Cooperation Program was launched in 2004, which was initiated by the U.S. government and aviation enterprises in cooperation with CAAC and other civil aviation entities, dedicated to the development and enhancement of aviation safety, capacity and efficiency, and promoting the cooperation in technology, policy and business between China and U.S. Currently, ACP has over 35 U.S. companies as its members.
