China Establishes Aviation Ties with Uruguay10/10/2017

From September 14 to 15, CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin visited Uruguay with a delegation led by him, and had bilateral aviation talks with his Uruguay counterparts which covered topics of signing of a bilateral air service agreement (ASA) and arrangement of traffic rights etc. Agreement was reached by both sides on the route schedules, transport capacity, fifth rights and code sharing etc. Both sides agreed to negotiate the text of the ASA as soon as possible. Administrator Feng signed the MoU with Víctor Rossi, Uruguayan Minister of Transport and Public Works, and Luis Brezzo, Uruguayan Minister of Defense. The talks were intended to implement relevant issues in the joint declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership between China and Uruguay in 2016, and to lay a legal basis in business cooperation of the air carriers and aviation ties of the two countries.

During his visit, Administrator Feng met with Rodolfo Nin Novoa, Minister of Foreign Relations of Uruguay, exchanged views on strengthening civil aviation cooperation, mutual economic and cultural exchanges, promoting cooperation among aviation enterprises and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. Chinese Ambassador to Uruguay Dong Xiaojun was present at relevant talks.
