On September 26, CAAC Deputy Administrator Li Jian attended the Regional Aviation and China-Made Regional Aircraft Development Forum 2017 hosted by Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and delivered a keynote speech. In his speech, Li Jian indicated that CAAC encourages airlines to purchase and introduce China-made aircraft and actively creates favorable conditions to fuel the development of feeder line aviation with the principle of “development for the people”. Vice General Manager of AVIC Chen Yuanxian also attended the forum.
Li Jian, on behalf of CAAC, extended congratulations for Modern Ark 60 which carried over 10 million passengers by now and extended his greetings to AVIC and airlines both at home and abroad which have introduced the aircraft. He said that Modern Ark aircraft have not only had more than 100 deliveries, but also made significant contributions to the exploration of feeder line operation model, the expansion of civil aviation network and the development of local economy, all of which laid a solid foundation for advancing the research and manufacturing of China-made civil aircraft. Modern Ark 60 represents a good example in demonstrating the success of the civil-military integrated development of China’s aviation industry and the pursuit of self-reliant innovation of Chinese brands. China-made feeder aircraft such as Modern Ark 600, Modern Ark 700 and ARJ 21 play exemplary roles in implementing the development strategy of “One Trunk and Two Feeder Aircraft” for China’s aviation industry. He underscored that the industry should seize the good opportunity and secure the domestic market.
Li Jian stressed that CAAC is now actively acting on the principle of “development for the people”, and creating a favorable environment for the development of feeder aviation. CAAC aims to expedite airport infrastructure construction, improve airport network layout, guide the development and formation of a network-based aviation and coordinated development of regional aviation, and strive to set up an air transport system which is well structured with clear layers, complete functions and extensive services. CAAC will advance the development of regional aviation hubs, promote the connection between trunk and feeder lines and flights, support the establishment of feeder airlines, especially airlines operating China-made aircraft, and further accelerate aviation market development in central and western areas and feeder aviation market. CAAC plans to bring into full play the role of basic aviation service in economic and social development, and offer more support to feeder aviation in remote areas, commuting aviation and low-cost aviation.
It is learned that Modern Ark is the first type of domestic aircraft that realizes scale production and with largest deliveries. Until now, above 100 units of aircraft have been delivered, and operated for more than 12 years on nearly 300 routes of 32 customers based in 18 countries. Over 200 representatives from CAAC, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, AVIC, and airlines such as Joyair, Okay Airways and China Express, and local governments participated in the forum.
