On November 5-6, CAAC Deputy Administrator Dong Zhiyi paid a visit to Indonesia with a delegation led by him, and held talks with Indonesian Directorate General of Civil Aviation on strengthening civil aviation ties between the two countries and expanding bilateral airworthiness cooperation. The two sides carried out discussion and exchange of views on the utilization and operation of China-made civil aircraft in Indonesia, conducted in-depth consultation on updating the MOU on airworthiness signed by the two civil aviation authorities on May 22, 2000, and reached important agreement. After the talks, the two sides signed meeting minutes on further enhancing exchanges and cooperation.

Indonesia is an important country along the “Belt and Road”. In March 2015, China and Indonesia published a joint statement on strengthening comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation. This talks will further expand and deepen technical cooperation between the two countries in all fields of the civil aviation industry under the “Belt and Road” framework, which, with Indonesia being the stepping stone, will support and facilitate China-made civil aircraft and other relevant products to increase their share and visibility in Southeast Asia and the global market.
