On November 17, 2017, in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Panamanian President Juan Carlos Verela, CAAC’s Administrator Feng Zhenglin and Panamanian Vice President and Foreign Minister Isabel de Saint Malo signed in Beijing the Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Panama Relating to Air Transport.

The bilateral Air Transport Agreement is the fundamental legal basis for the establishment of aviation ties between the two countries. The signing of the Agreement will promote the development of closer bilateral relations in civil aviation, expedite the launching of air routes by Chinese and Panamanian airlines, and facilitate the economic cooperation and personnel exchanges between China and Panama and other Latin American countries.

Up to now, China has signed bilateral air transport agreements with 122 countries or regions.
