Feng Zhenglin extends his regards to control tower staff at Capital Airport.

At 10 am on the morning of February 16, the first day of the lunar New Year of 2018, Feng Zhenglin, Administrator of CAAC, headed for Capital Airport to visit and greet the staff who were still holding their posts during the Spring Festival.

He first came to the Operation Control Center of Capital Airport. Seeing operations and real-time data concerning different operation areas such as the apron and terminal building on the big display, he asked carefully the on-duty personnel about the operation of flights and the weather condition of the day. Upon learning that the flight clearance regularity reached 96.22% and departure regularity reached 94.95%, he nodded frequently, with comforting smiles. Then he remarked: “It’s the first day of Chinese lunar New Year, but you are still holding your posts. You are working very hard! I send lunar New Year’s greetings to you all! Flight regularity is a great concern to travelers, and is also an important sign of improved service level of the civil aviation. Thanks to concerted effort by all officials and employees in the civil aviation industry, the flight regularity reached 82.05% nationwide in January, with a year-on-year increase of 8.97%, which is a hard-won achievement. I hope that you double efforts to continuously do a good job in flight regularity and ensure passengers’ safe and smooth travel.”

Besides passenger travelling, the industrious dedication by crew members during the support of Spring Festival Travel Rush was also constantly on Feng Zhenglin’s mind. Stepping out of the Operation Control Center, he headed straight toward T1, T2 and T3 of Capital Airport, where he visited and greeted crew and ground support personnel from Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines as well as Hainan Airlines.

In the western tower of North China Air Traffic Management Bureau CAAC, Feng Zhenglin asked about ATM support during the Spring Festival in a detailed way and browsed the bulletin board on ATM safety culture. Then he told the staff earnestly: “ATM system underpins the safe, efficient and orderly operation of the civil aviation industry. You are on an honorable mission and shoulder great responsibility. In the past year, under the leadership of CAAC CPC Leadership Group, the ATM system took on a brand new look. I hope that you will intensify efforts to build an ATM system characterized by a high level of safety, efficiency, wisdom and coordination, making due contributions to the building of China into a civil aviation power.”

Feng Zhenglin also greeted on-duty personnel from some resident entities at the airport, including the customs, border protection, inspection and quarantine, security check and the armed police.
