On April 26, CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin, during his trip to Gansu aimed for special inspection on small and medium-sized airports, exchanged views with Lin Duo, Communist Party Secretary of Gansu province, on further promoting the development of civil aviation in Gansu.

Since the implementation of the “13th Five-Year Plan”, Gansu Province has witnessed construction and operation of Longnan Chengxian airport and Zhangye Danxia General Aviation Airport, and completion of the second phase expansion of Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport, expansion of Dunhuang Airport and the preliminary work for the new airport construction projects in Wuwei, Pingliang and Linxia. At present, Gansu Province has 8 small and medium-sized airports, which are Dunhuang Airport, Jiayuguan Airport, Qingyang Airport, Jinchang Airport, Zhangye Airport, Tianshui Airport, Xiahe Airport and Longnan Airport. In 2017, routes connecting the small and medium-sized airports in Gansu totaled 59, carrying 1.886 million passengers.
