Li Jian, CAAC Deputy Administrator, and Raimundo Arrais do Rosario, Chief of Secretariat for Transport and Public Works (Macao), Witnessing the Signing of ATM Cooperation Memorandum between the Mainland and Macao on Supporting Macao International Airport Construction and Improving ATM Efficiency

At the invitation of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, CAAC Deputy Administrator Li Jian led a delegation to Macao from May 24 to 27, where he met with Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, and exchanged opinions upon further deepening cooperation between the mainland and Macao in civil aviation, assisting the expansion of Macao International Airport, promoting the free flow of civil aviation human resources in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and facilitating integrated development of air traffic management both in the mainland and Macao.

Li Jian said that CAAC has always attached great importance to civil aviation affairs related to Macao, and has intensified its efforts in offering more preferential measures, assisting Macao in achieving substantial progress in the building of “one center and one platform”. Since the return of Macao to the motherland in 1999, the practice of “One Country, Two Systems” has achieved a widely recognized success. CAAC encourages Macao to continue to give full play to its unique advantage of “Facing the World with the Support of China”, share the development opportunities of its motherland, integrate its development into national development strategy, and strengthen its cooperation with the mainland in civil aviation in varied forms so as to achieve common development and prosperity.

On May 25, Li Jian met with Lau Si Io, Chief of Secretariat for Transport and Public Works (Macao), and witnessed the signing of ATM Cooperation Memorandum between the Mainland and Macao on Supporting Macao International Airport Construction and Improving ATM Efficiency. The signing of the agreement will further promote the initiative and creativity of civil aviation in Macao, stimulate the development of Macao International Airport, help improve the capacity and efficiency of air traffic management in Macao, promote ATM integration between the two sides, and advance the common development and prosperity of civil aviation both in the mainland and Macao.

During his stay in Macao, Li Jian also visited Macao Civil Aviation Authority, Macao International Airport, Air Macau, Macau Business Aviation Center and East Asia Airlines Limited and solicited opinions upon such issues as the expansion of Macao airport, development of general aviation, upgrading of civil aviation cross-border service, and the role of civil aviation in the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
