CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin and Governor of Jiangxi Province Liu Qi Unveil Jiangxi Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Center
CAAC and Jiangxi Provincial Government Sign the Cooperative Agreement on Jointly Advancing the Establishment of Jiangxi Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Center
On May 31, CAAC Jiangxi Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Center (Jiangxi Certification Center) was inaugurated in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin and Jiangxi Provincial Governor Liu Qi unveiled the Center. CAAC Deputy Administrator Li Jian and Jiangxi Vice Governor Wu Xiaojun, on behalf of CAAC and Jiangxi Provincial Government respectively, signed a cooperative agreement of jointly advancing the establishment of Jiangxi Certification Center. CAAC East Regional Administration granted a business license to Jiangxi Express Commuter Airlines. Jiangxi Provincial Executive Vice Governor Mao Weiming and Secretary of Nanchang Municipal Party Committee Yin Meigen also attended the event.
Feng Zhenglin said that the establishment of Jiangxi Certification Center and granting of business license for Jiangxi Express Commuter Airlines mark a new achievement of the strategic cooperation between CAAC and Jiangxi Province and a new phase of civil aviation development in Jiangxi. Jiangxi is an important aviation industrial base in China with a rapid developing civil aviation industry due to the strong support from Jiangxi provincial government in advancing industry integration. CAAC will also intensify its efforts in helping Jiangxi civil aviation industry improve quality and efficiency and serve the local economic and social development.
Liu Qi indicated that airworthiness certification represented a critical basis for aviation industry development. The establishment of the Center would definitely facilitate communication and collaboration in research, production and airworthiness certification of aviation manufacturing industry in Jiangxi, improve the efficiency of aircraft certification, lower certification costs, shorten certification process, and advance the development of aviation industry clusters. Granting business license for Jiangxi Express will help build a short-haul general aviation transport network in Jiangxi, establish a “one-hour flight circle” general aviation system, and provide affordable basic air service for more people.
Jiangxi Certification Center is an entity directly under CAAC Airworthiness Certification Center. It is authorized to undertake the type certification for normal, utility and commuter category aircraft and rotor aircraft in Jiangxi Province, and conduct design reviews and manufacturing compliance checks for parts and components of transport aircraft, engines and propellers.
