From June 26 to 28, 2018, the CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin led a delegation to France and had talks with Patrick Gandil, the Director General of French Civil Aviation Authority. Both parties have concluded agreements on technical cooperation and agreed that on the basis of mutual benefits and win-win progress, the two sides should keep expanding cooperation and exchanges concerning civil aviation, especially in the areas of air transport policy, basic aviation service, air traffic management, aircraft airworthiness certification, UAS oversight, personnel training, etc.

During the visit, the delegation led by Feng Zhenglin visited the final assembly line of A350 at the Airbus headquarters. The delegation also held talks with aviation manufacturing enterprises such as Thales, Safran and ATR, made a survey of the air transport market of China and France, and visited the headquarter of Air France. By the end of May 2018, Chinese civil aviation fleet had a total of 3 370 transport aircraft, including 1 567 Airbus aircraft, accounting for 46.5%.
