On 29 August, the Chinese civil aviation delegation led by Wang Zhiqing, Vice Administrator of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), visited Luxembourg and held talks with Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure on expansion of traffic rights between the two countries and the two sides signed MOU. The new agreement significantly expands the cargo capacity arrangements from Luxembourg to Zhengzhou, and adds flexibility to the operation of passenger and cargo flights by air carriers of the two parties.

This meeting represents an important effort in implementing President Xi Jinping’s instruction on building “Silk Road over the Air” between Zhengzhou and Luxembourg, which will contribute to the accelerated construction of an international cargo hub and Air Economic Experimental Zone in Zhengzhou and further promote cargo transport between China and countries along the “Belt and Road”.
