On September 27, the National Civil Aviation Security Working Conference was held in Shenzhen. During the conference, the security work of 2017 was summarized, challenges and circumstances facing the security check system were analyzed and key tasks in the next stage were planned. CAAC Deputy Administrator Lyu Erxue attended the conference and stressed that we have to forge ahead to make progress, to make evolution and explore new grounds, to enhance the quality and efficiency of civil aviation security check, and to better serve people's needs and industry's development, so as to boost high quality development of civil aviation security check.

During the conference, relevant officials of the Public Security Bureau of CAAC delivered the working report. It pointed out that since 2017, various units within the civil aviation security check system have closely followed the goal of sustainable safety, and have made the line of safety more solid and the regulations more robust. Also, the building of the Three Basics have become more vigorous, the application of technology in ensuring safety more energetic, and the concept of service more clear. From 2017 till now, unsafe events due to failure of security checks did not occur throughout the system.

Lyu Erxue expressed that civil aviation security is an important component of aviation safety, and that security check is the dominant player in ensuring civil aviation security. To fully strengthen security checks and to ensure a solid line of safety is of grave importance for carrying out the overall national safety plan and safeguarding the bottom line of civil aviation safety. In recent years, all security check personnel of civil aviation have been following Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and have kept in mind the instructions given to civil aviation by General Secretary Xi. They have carried out the general principles of “One, Two, Three, Three and Four” and the Strategy of Building a Civil Aviation Power. They remained true to the original aspiration, devoted to their duty, and made good progress. It has been proved by practice that the civil aviation security check personnel are politically steadfast and professionally competent, brave to take responsibility and trustworthy.

Eight security check institutions of the Capital Airport, Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, Guangzhou Airport, Shenzhen Airport and so on shared their experience during the conference, and participants held discussions around the working report. Representatives attending the conference include officials from CAAC as well as its Regional Administrations, CAAC Tibet Autonomous Region Administration, Shenzhen Safety Supervision and Management Bureau and security check institutions of airports.
