On October 22, the 55th Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation, Asia and Pacific Region was held in Nadi, Fiji. The CAAC Inspector General of Aviation Safety Tang Weibin attended the conference with a Chinese civil aviation delegation.
The conference focused on the theme of “Collaboration and Harmonisation for Safe, Secure and Sustainable Aviation in the Asia Pacific Region”. More than 300 representatives from nearly 40 civil aviation authorities and 10 international organizations from Asia and Pacific Region attended the conference. The Chinese delegation submitted to the Secretariat 16 working papers which, focusing on issues such as safety management, flight procedure management and the application of Beidou Navigation Satellite System, shared with civil aviation authorities in the Asia Pacific reigon experience gained from industry development and safety supervision, so as to jointly deal with the challenges. At the invitation of the Secretariat, China also introduced its experience in the license management of civil transport airports as a demonstration country, and assisted ICAO Asia and Pacific Regional Office to push forward the implementation of Beijing Declaration, which was a great achievement in the first Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation.
During the conference, Tang Weibin met with the Director of Asia and Pacific Regional Office Arun Mishra. He also held talks with Deputy Administrator of Federal Aviation Administration and Deputy Administrator of Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, during which they candidly exchanged views regarding aviation safety and technological cooperation.
