From January 14 to 16, 2019, CAAC Deputy Administrator Wang Zhiqing visited India with a Chinese civil aviation delegation to attend the Global Aviation Summit 2019 in Mumbai, India. The theme of the Summit is Flying for All, focusing on the hot topics of international aviation industry and exploring ways to work together to meet common challenges, with the aim of building a platform for governments and enterprises in the global aviation industry to exchange information and share experience. Main topics of the Summit include UAV technology and management, green aviation innovation achievements, future development trends and path of aviation industry, etc. During the Summit, the delegation also participated in a round-table conference for civil aviation authorities chaired by Dr. Aliu, President of the Council of ICAO, where they had wide and in-depth exchanges with civil aviation authorities around the world on issues like effective implementation of ICAO SARPs, civil aviation personnel training, aviation emissions reduction, mutual recognition of maintenance units and training organizations, UAV management, ICAO safety supervision and audit, etc.
Before the summit, Wang Zhiqing met with Indian Minister of Civil Aviation Prabhu to exchange views on strengthening civil aviation relations and exchanges and cooperation between China and India in various fields, and held bilateral talks with Dr. Juneja, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation of India, to exchange views on issues of expanding air transport market arrangements between China and India, establishing regular civil aviation exchange mechanism between the two countries, airline operation, UAV management and energy conservation and emissions reduction. The delegation also had talks with Indian airlines that are operating, planning to operate or operating through code sharing routes to China, and Chinese airlines operating routes to India, to listen to the problems and demands in the operation of airlines of both parties, and to work together to seek ways of enlarging and strengthening the bilateral air transport market. In addition, Wang Zhiqing also had talks with Dr. Aliu, President of ICAO Council, and conducted in-depth exchanges on UAV management, training of next generation aviation personnel, series of celebrations on the 75th anniversary of ICAO and further strengthening China's comprehensive cooperation with ICAO in various fields.
