On March 5, 2019, CAAC Department of Aircraft Airworthiness Certification, HK Civil Aviation Department and Civil Aviation Authority of Macau held a meeting on deepening airworthiness certification cooperation in Chenzhou of Hunan Province. A cooperative working group was established for development of airworthiness certificate integration during the meeting, and agreement was achieved on cooperation path after discussion on the principle and mode of cooperation. Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs of CAAC Department of International Affairs also attended the meeting.

According to the MOU on Close Cooperation in Airworthiness Certification, deepening cooperation in airworthiness certification with Hong Kong and Macau regions is part of the coordinated civil aviation development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, which has fully demonstrated the cooperation mindset of “pursuing shared growth through consultation and collaboration”.

Following up, the working group will carry out cooperation according to the agreed cooperation path. It is expected that cooperation files for certificates including type certificate, production license and type approval will be signed in the mid of the year, and all cooperation mechanisms for airworthiness certificates will be set up by the end of the year, so as to constantly strengthen the foundation for integrated development.
