On March 13-15, 2019, civil aviation delegations of China and Korea held a new round of bilateral aviation talks in Nanjing. The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on the current situations and future development of air transport market between China and Korea, reached agreement on proper expansion of traffic right arrangement between the two countries, and signed an MOU. The new arrangement on traffic rights optimized the structure of routes between the two countries and increased flight capacity for some of the passenger and cargo flights, for instance the two sides have agreed that the capacity will be increased by 14 frequencies per week for the Beijing-Seoul route so as to facilitate the hub building of Beijing Daxing International Airport. According to statistics, passenger traffic between China and Korea in 2018 was 15.47 million.
