With May 1st International Labor Day around the corner, the Symposium on the Commendation of National Civil Aviation Model Workers was held in Beijing on April 29. CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin attended the symposium, encouraging every civil aviation practitioner to carry forward the spirit of model workers, the spirit of hard-working, and the spirit of craftsman. He also stressed that the whole industry should carry out Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, promote the contemporary civil aviation spirit, contribute to the efforts of building China into a civil aviation power, and forge ahead towards the goal of building China into a civil aviation power in the new era. Dong Zhiyi, CAAC Deputy Administrator and Chairman of CAAC Labor Union, presided over the symposium. Present at the symposium were Deputy Director of the Labor and Economic Work Department of All -China Federation of Trade Unions Min Yingqiu, CAAC Chief Pilot, Inspector General of Aviation Safety and heads of relevant departments, labor union chairmen of civil aviation units in Beijing and representatives of civil aviation model workers.

During the symposium, the 2019 awards were presented to representatives of winners from the civil aviation industry of the National May 1st Labor Award and the National Vanguard Workers’ Award, and to the winners of National May 1st Labor Medal and the representatives of the Innovation studio for Civil Aviation Model Workers (Highly Skilled Talents). Seven model representatives delivered speeches at the symposium, including Wu Zhihui, winner of the National May 1st Labor Medal and Senior Business Manager at Beijing Daxing International Airport Construction Headquarters under the Capital Airport Group, members of China Civil Aviation Hero Crew, winner of Sichuan Provincial May 1st Labor Medal, and Liang Peng, Manager of the Integrated Business Management Office of the Flight Operation Branch under Chongqing Branch of Sichuan Airlines. They detailed their stories on how to promote the spirit of model workers, the spirit of hard-working and the spirit of craftsman, and showcased the positive mental outlook and diligence of the civil aviation staff.
