Beijing Daxing International Airport Holds the Third Full-Scale Test Run Before Its Coming into Operation11/09/2019

On August 16, Beijing Daxing International Airport held the third full scale test run before its coming into operation. The third test has, for the first time, opened all the five terminal corridors, and the number of simulated passengers reached 3,191, which was equivalent to the previous two times combined.

The test run involved a total of 82 simulated flights, both international and domestic. Six airlines, namely China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Air China, Capital Airlines, Hebei Airlines and China United Airlines participated in the flight crew procedure test. The test run opened four runways, 237 check-in counters, 34 boarding gates, 25 security checkpoints, 14 baggage sorting carousels, 20 baggage claim carousels, and opened all together 162 commercial stores. The test run covered 8 main procedures and 32 sub-procedures, with a total of 126 items. Compared with the previous two times, two major emergency response subjects, i.e. aircraft failure and baggage system failure, were added to conduct preliminary stress tests.
