CAAC: Measures to Prevent Disease Transmission by Civil Aviation Tightened17/02/2020

In order to carry out prevention and control measures in a more stringent, sturdy and meticulous manner, CAAC held special video and teleconferences on January 24, requiring all entities in the industry to implement the requirements given by the Central Committee of CPC and the State Council in an effort to curb the spread of the pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus, and to tighten measures to prevent disease transmission through civil aviation.

The conference required that civil aviation entities follow closely the situation of the disease, and adopt necessary measures such as taking passengers’ temperatures, emphasizing prevention and control in areas and flights in distress to prevent disease transmission through civil aviation. Meanwhile, the channels for transporting preventive material and personnel shall be kept open. During the special period of disease prevention and control, transport airlines may adjust or reduce flights base on the changes of disease situation.

It was emphasized in the conference that civil aviation entities need to further enhance the safety protection of their staff: the personnel who have direct contact with passengers and who work in crowded places should wear masks and preventive clothing; disinfection of terminal buildings and aircraft shall be intensified.

Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport shall begin to take arrival passengers’ temperatures since January 25.
