CAAC held the Monthly Meeting of February on the Analysis of Civil Aviation Operation Safety on February 11. The meeting analyzed the operation safety in January, the recent prevention and control of pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus, and put forward requirements for operation safety and disease prevention and control in the next step.
CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin pointed out that civil aviation operation has slumped in January due to the outbreak of pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus. Facing the disease, the entire industry earnestly acted upon the important instructions given by President Xi Jinping as well as the decision and deployment of the Central Committee of CPC, and took disease prevention and control as the top priority. The bravery and dedication throughout the industry have led to fruitful results. As of February 10, civil aviation system has supported a total of 9,379 emergency flights, delivered 1,381,660 pieces of disease prevention and control material, totaled 11,856.60 tons. Among them, 280 flights operated by 20 airlines have transported 344,699 pieces of disease prevention and control material to Hubei, totaled 2,682.51 tons. A total of 21,125 persons were transported, including 19,145 medical personnel. As of February 9, general aviation in Hubei recorded 75 aircraft movement; civil aviation has taken home 808 Hubei passengers who were stranded overseas; organized and coordinated China Southern Airlines to perform a return trip for 85 Pakistani passengers. The entire industry not only completed various emergency transportation tasks efficiently and smoothly, but also maintained the overall safety. The flight regularity rate continued to remain at a high level, an increase of 13.47 percentage points year-on-year.
Feng Zhenglin said that at present, the national disease prevention and control has entered a critical period, and the entire industry must, based on the new features of disease prevention and control and continue to adhere to the requirements of “ensuring safe operation, supporting emergency transport, controlling risks, and taking precise measures”, to refine prevention and control measures and resolutely prevail over the disease prevention and control.
