On June 5, CAAC participated in the first video conference convened by the ICAO APAC COVID-19 Contingency and Recovery Planning Group (ACCRPG) to discuss the implementation of the ICAO document “Take-off: Guidance for Air Travel through the COVID-19 Public Health Crisis”. Over 80 representatives from the civil aviation authorities of over 20 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore, United States, etc., as well as ICAO headquarters and organizations such as International Air Transport Association (IATA), Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) attended the meeting.

CAAC registered and joined the three sub-groups of public health, aviation safety, and security and facilitation established during the meeting, and will actively participate in the efforts of the ICAO Asia-Pacific Office in promoting epidemic prevention and control and the recovery of civil aviation operation by attending video conferences and through e-mails. The ACCRPG will review very soon the best practices and recovery of civil aviation operation in the Asia-Pacific region to promote the implementation of the Take-off document across the region and make timely recommendations for improvement, in a bid to steadily promote the industry recovery in the region.
