On June 26, 2020, representatives of CAAC attended the third teleconference of ACCRPG of ICAO. More than 90 representatives from CAAs of Australia, South Korea, Singapore, India, Malaysia, United States, and from international organizations such as ICAO headquarters, IATA, ACI, CANSO, and IFALPA attended the conference.
During the teleconference, Chinese representatives introduced the recovery of air transport in China, the update of the technical guidance on epidemic prevention and control, the standard operating procedures adopted for the restoration of operations, and the effective measures taken to promote air transport and the restoration of international passenger transport. China also called upon countries to follow the recommended measures of ICAO and WHO, and take strong measures to contain the epidemic, so as to restore market confidence and promote the aviation industry to recover as soon as possible.
The Technical Cooperation Bureau of ICAO briefed the participants on the general information about and development progress of the toolkit (IPack) and other supportive online courses and services that could support Member States to implement the measures recommended by CART. The subgroups of ACCRPG on public health, aviation safety, facilitation and security respectively introduced their progress. Representatives from China, India, Malaysia, South Korea and Sri Lanka held discussions around the topic of the restart of air connectivity, and exchanged information on, among other things, the current status of the air transport industry in their own country, the epidemic prevention and control measures adopted, the experience and challenges related to operation recovery, the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and the opening of green channels.
