On July 1, CAAC announced the second circuit breaker order since the issuance of the CAAC Notice on Adjustments to International Passenger Flights, according to which Sichuan Airlines’ Flight 3U8392 from Cairo, Egypt to Chengdu will be grounded for one week starting July 6.

As per the provisions in the CAAC Notice on Adjustments to International Passenger Flights issued on June 4, CAAC made the circuit breaker ruling to Sichuan Airlines after six passengers on its Flight 3U8392 from Cairo to Chengdu turned up positive in COVID-19 nucleic acid tests on June 27. Starting July 6, the flight will be suspended for a week, and the flight volume shall not be used for other routes.

After the issuance of the Notice, 17 infected passengers surfaced on China Southern Airlines' Flight CZ392 from Dhaka, Bangladesh to Guangzhou on June 11. CAAC adopted the circuit breaker order and grounded the flight for four weeks starting June 22, which was the first such order since the rules took effect.
