On July 23, 13 059 flights were flown, which was the highest since the pandemic and about 80% of the pre-pandemic level. On the same day, 1.273 million passengers were transported, about 70% of the same day last year, with the passenger load factor staying at 73.57%.
Since February, the YOY growth rate of the number of passengers transported by China’s civil aviation sector has been witnessing a rebound on a monthly basis. In June, due to a significant increase in passenger travel demand compared with the previous months, passenger traffic continued its recovery trend, and a total of 325 000 flights were operated, with the daily average reaching 10 820, an increase of 14.1% compared with that of the previous month. The number of passengers transported totaled 30.739 million in the month, with the YOY increase being 10.2% higher than that of the previous month and 42.1% higher than that of February. From July 1 to July 23, a total of 267 400 flights were operated, with a daily average of 11 628 which was an increase of 6.77% over that of the previous month; and the number of passengers transported totaled 26.427 million, which was more than 60 percent of the same period last year.
