On February 8, CAAC published the amended Preventing Spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Guideline for Airlines and Airports (Seventh Edition) (hereinafter referred to as the Guideline (Seventh Edition)). Against the backdrop of normalized disease prevention and control, CAAC required airports and airlines to adopt differentiated and classified measures that guard against disease importation, domestic resurgence, as well as transmission through passenger and cargo, so that the disease could be curbed in a more efficient and accurate manner.
Based on consultation and extensive opinion solicitation, the Guideline (Seventh Edition) has fully drawn upon the experience of the previous six editions and taken into consideration of the new requirements brought forth by the changes and current situation of the pandemic. The following contents have been revised or adjusted: the quarantine and health monitoring measures for inbound international flight crews; disease prevention and control management of crew members when they are stationed abroad; the risk evaluation indicators and standards for international cargo flights; prevention and control measures for high-risk flights engaged in cold-chain transportation or to/from frigid areas. In addition, the requirements for the transshipment of imported cargo at airports were refined, and the health monitoring of cargo personnel has been intensified.
