On May 14, the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council held a press conference to present information on measures against disease import and vaccination. Han Guangzu, Deputy Director General of the Flight Standard Department of CAAC expressed at the press conference that since Covid-19 is still raging across the world, all civil aviation entities will continue to practice the technical guidelines on disease prevention and control to strictly guard against the spread of the pandemic through aviation.

At present, Covid-19 is still raging across the globe, and the Indian variant, in particular, has attracted widespread attention from the international community. Regarding the current operation of international flights, Han Guangzu introduced that according to statistics, in the past 4 weeks, there were 2,080 inbound international scheduled flights per week, including 223 passenger flights and 1,857 cargo flights. China currently maintains passenger flight connection with 52 countries. So far, CAAC has implemented circuit breaker measures for 234 international passenger flights that have triggered the suspension mechanism due to importation of COVID-19 cases, resulting in the reduction of 487 inbound flights.
