On June 17, Administrator of CAAC Feng Zhenglin met with Vice Secretary-General of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Liu Xiaoming in Beijing. The two sides had in-depth exchange of views on how to promote high-quality development of civil aviation in Guangxi.

It is reported that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Guangxi witnessed an average annual growth of 15.8% in passenger traffic, and an investment of 8 billion yuan in aviation projects, with the number of civil airports increasing to 8. Up to now, a network of 348 domestic and international passenger routes has been set up in Guangxi, including 35 ones to ASEAN countries, which cover almost all of the ASEAN countries. During the period of January to May, 2021, the passenger traffic and cargo throughput at airports in Guangxi were 8.92 million and 58000 tons respectively, which were 75% and 92% respectively of the levels recorded in the same period of 2019.
