2021 National Civil Aviation Half-Year Work Video Conference Held22/07/2021

On July 9, the 2021 National Civil Aviation Half-Year Work Video Conference was held, in which the work of CAAC in the first half of 2021 was reviewed, current situation analyzed, and key tasks for the second half of the year arranged. Feng Zhenglin, CAAC Administrator, delivered the half-year work report. Dong Zhiyi, CAAC Deputy Administrator, presided over the meeting, while CAAC Deputy Administrators Lyu Erxue, Cui Xiaofeng and Hu Zhenjiang attended the meeting.

It is indicated at the conference that as of the first half of 2021, civil aviation in China achieved transport flight safety for “120+10” straight months, totaling 94.48 million hours. Securing 229 consecutive months in terms of aviation security, CAAC ranked among the first tier in the State Council’s Annual Workplace Safety Assessment. During the first half of 2021, the industry’s total transportation turnover, passenger throughput and cargo and mail turnover registered 46.5 billion ton-km, 245 million and 3.743 million tons respectively, up by 45.4%, 66.4% and 24.6% year-on-year, recovering to 74.1%, 76.2% and 106.4% of the levels recorded in the same period of 2019. The loss of the whole industry decreased by 44.98 billion yuan year-on-year. A total of 101,000 cargo flights of Chinese and foreign airlines got approved, of which 51,000 were converted from passenger aircraft. The flight regularity rate nationwide amounted to 85.57%, 5.22 percentage points higher than the same period of 2019. The total investment in fixed assets reached 43.5 billion yuan, up by 8.5% year-on-year. Five newly built transport airports were put into operation, bringing the number of certified transport airports to 246. There were 558 traditional general aviation enterprises and more than 11,000 UAV enterprises.
