On November 9, an inspection group of officials of the Office of CAAC Leading Group on COVID-19 Containment made a tour to Beijing Capital International Airport (the Airport) to inspect COVID-19 containment.
At Terminal 3, the group inspected the COVID-19 containment measures for passengers’ air travel process, including body temperature measurement, health QR code verification, check-in, security screening and boarding process, the disinfection and ventilation of the terminal, the personal protective equipment of passengers and airport personnel, and the special lanes for passengers who departed from the Airport during the Beijing Olympic Winter Games. At the operational monitoring center of Capital Airport, the group watched CCTV footage to verify measures on the pandemic prevention and control for international passenger and cargo flights.
According to the inspection group, Capital Airport has developed a rigorous and well-organized process for COVID-19 containment. During the period of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the preparations of the Beijing Olympic Winter Games, the civil aviation industry faced more complex and challenging tasks for COVID-19 containment. Therefore, the Airport and all its stationed entities should closely follow the current COVID-19 situation at home and abroad, and continue to earnestly implement COVID-19 containment measures of "curbing imported cases and preventing any local resurgence of cases, and protecting people from infecting via objects", thereby building a solid barrier against the pandemic.
