Lyu Erxue Makes a Fact-finding Tour to Beijing Daxing International Airport and China Southern Airlines Beijing Branch27/01/2022

On November 12, Lyu Erxue, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, made a fact-finding tour to Beijing Daxing International Airport and China Southern Airlines Beijing Branch to learn their operations and requirements, so as to make CAAC’s measures more targeted for helping them bail out.

At Daxing Airport, Lyu Erxue inspected the ATC tower, and the snow removing building, airport fire station, and BCS international cargo station which were located in the aircraft movement area to learn the apron operation and command, winter operation, anti-pandemic measures, and the international air cargo transport support. Lyu noted that the Capital Airport Holdings Limited has made positive results in such aspects as maintaining effective COVID-19 containment measures, keeping aviation safety stable and controllable, improving the quality and efficiency of services support, providing safe and efficient support for major transport tasks, and developing business by innovation. For the next-step, CAAC will strengthen its support for CAH by optimizing airspace structure, improving air route network of its affiliated airports, and actively implementing measures to help them bail out.

At China Southern Airlines Beijing Branch, Lyu visited the largest single hangar in Asia and its command center for operation. Lyu Erxue said that facing difficulties and severe challenges posed by the pandemic, China Southern Air Holding Group transferred all its flights to/from Beijing into Daxing Airport, continuously strengthened flight operation safety, and improved flight regularity and passengers’ satisfaction, thus making outstanding contributions to build Daxing Airport into a new driver for the development of the country. In 2020, CAAC introduced a series of support policies, such as temporarily reducing or exempting the Civil Aviation Development Fund, providing special subsidies for international flights which maintained operation during the pandemic, major transport tasks, and transportation of cargo by passenger aircraft, and making every effort to enable the airlines to obtain emergency loans of 110 billion yuan at preferential interest rates. For the next-step, CAAC will actively work together with relevant parties to strive for preferential policy support, and help China Southern Airlines to overcome difficulties by improving airspace structure, optimizing ATC operation and slot allocation, and facilitating customs clearance.
