On March 1, Meeting of Summary on the Development of Baggage Tracking System for Airports with a Passenger Traffic over 10 million and Promotion of the Development of Baggage Tracking System at Small and Medium-sized Airports was held at Beijing Daxing Airport. The meeting summarized the achievements in the development of the airport baggage tracking system at airports with a passenger traffic over 10 million so as to promote its development at small and medium-sized airports in an all-round way. It also aimed to ensure the early establishment of a civil aviation baggage tracking system that features wide coverage, efficient and smooth services. CAAC Deputy Administrator Lyu Erxue, underscored at the meeting the necessity to continue to take the “14th Five-Year Plan” as the lead and the development of intelligent civil aviation as the main objective. He pointed out that it is imperative to deepen the development of the baggage tracking system to meet the travel needs of the people. To this end, a competitive baggage transportation service system should be built to provide strong support.
The meeting listened to the report on the development progress of the baggage tracking system. TravelSky, China Southern Airlines, Capital Airports Group, Daxing Airport, and the Second Research Institute of CAAC introduced their progress and shared experience in the development of whole-process baggage tracking system from the perspective of industrial information platform building, participation in the Winter Olympics, model and product innovation, system construction and enhancement of service capabilities respectively.
After the meeting, Lyu Erxue inspected the application of the baggage tracking system on the spot at Daxing Airport. He focused on the operation process of passenger self-service baggage check and baggage tracking, as well as the progress of the domestic electronic baggage tag project.
