On March 21, 2022, a Boeing 737 aircraft of China Eastern Airlines was en route to Guangzhou from Kunming when it lost contact over the city of Wuzhou. It has been confirmed that the aircraft has crashed. There were 132 people onboard the aircraft, including 123 passengers and 9 crew members.

Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has activated the emergency mechanism and sent a working group to the scene.
