CAAC and the Boeing Company held a special meeting on evaluating the operation of 737MAX (AEG Review) in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province on September 14, 2022 in order to carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the aircraft type-based training standards for the improved 737 planes. CAAC will release the second revision of the Aircraft Evaluation Report on Boeing 737 Planes after the problems that have been identified in the meeting are resolved, indicating the process for re-introducing 737MAX planes is nearing conclusion.

Professional AEG personnel from CAAC Department of Flight Standard and Center of Aircraft Evaluation of China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology attended the meeting. In addition, flight and maintenance technicians from a group of airlines as well as principal operation inspectors and principal maintenance inspectors in charge of inspections for CAAC Regional Administrations were also invited to the meeting. Staff from Boeing China and Boeing’s Completion and Delivery Center in Zhoushan made on site preparations for the meeting while Boeing 737 project and technical teams provided remote support from Seattle.

The participants also visited Boeing’s Completion and Delivery Center in Zhoushan on the second day of the meeting.
