On March 29, Cui Xiaofeng, Deputy Administrator of CAAC met with a delegation led by Liu Chi Yung, Director-General of Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department in Beijing. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on topics including implementing “One Country, Two Systems”, facilitating the safe and sound recovery of civil aviation, enhancing technical exchanges and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong, and strengthening concerted development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (the “Greater Bay Area”).

Mr. Cui highly commended Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department for withstanding the impact and test of COVID-19, and safeguarding the safe operation and steady recovery of civil aviation in Hong Kong. He stated that CAAC would, as always, continue to fully and accurately implement “One Country, Two Systems”, and support Hong Kong in leveraging its unique strengths. Talking about steps forward, Mr. Cui said that priority would be given to deepen exchanges and cooperation regarding enhanced synergy to integrate into the development of the Greater Bay Area, formation of an industry-wide mechanism for resilience, and promotion of scientific innovation and talents cultivation, for the purpose of facilitating the high quality development of the civil aviation sector.

The delegation led by Mr. Liu Chi Yung also visited Beijing Daxing International Airport, Operational Supervision Center, Flight Inspection Center, Operation Management Center of Air Traffic Management Bureau, Aeronautical Information Center, and Meteorology Center.
