On April 19-21, the China Regional Aviation Development Summit 2023 was held in Kunming. The Summit aimed to explore new approaches for promoting the development of “regional transportation, regional airports and regional aircraft” to create a new development pattern for regional aviation. Lyu Erxue, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, attended the opening ceremony of the Summit and delivered a keynote speech. Wang Xiangang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the People's Government of Yunnan Province, and He Dongfeng, Chairman of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd., delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

Three thematic forums and round-table dialogues on topics such as the “landscape of development of regional aviation and policy recommendations”, “industry planning for regional aviation and safety management” and “regional aviation operation and services” were held during the Summit. More than 500 representatives from governments, industry organizations, airlines, airports, OTA platforms, tech companies, financial institutions, universities and research institutes participated in the Summit.
