On July 7, Hu Zhenjiang, Deputy Administrator of CAAC and Martin Schmid Ding, Deputy Director General of the Federal Office of Civil Aviation of Switzerland, officially signed the Agreement Between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and Swiss Federal Council for Promotion of Aviation Safety. The Implementation Procedures for Airworthiness (IPA) was also signed on the same day. Wang Shiting, Chinese ambassador to Switzerland, attended the signing ceremony.
The Agreement serves as the legal framework for extensive cooperation between China and Switzerland in aviation safety-related areas such as airworthiness and environmental certification, certification of maintenance organizations, personnel licensing and training, operation of aircraft, air transport service, and air traffic management. It presents win-win principle and lays a solid foundation for future cooperation.
The signing of the IPA not only helps create favorable conditions for cooperation between China and Switzerland in the certification of aeronautical products, but also creates a good environment for the exchanges of aeronautical products and cooperation between industrial enterprises of the two sides.
