On August 22 local time, a CAAC delegation led by Han Jun, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, visited the headquarters of European Union, and held talks with a delegation led by Filip Cornelis, Director of Aviation Department of Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of European Commission. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on topics such as the development of sustainable aviation fuels, the building of carbon markets, research and development of new energy powered aircraft, airport pollution reduction, and the first meeting of the Joint Committee of the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA). The two sides agreed to further strengthen communication and exchanges through mechanisms such as the EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) on issues of mutual interest, such as green development, basic aviation services, and coordinated economic and safety oversight, so as to jointly uplift EU-China civil aviation cooperation to a new high.
