On September 11, Song Zhiyong, Administrator of CAAC, met in Beijing with the ICAO USAP-CMA audit group. CAAC Deputy Administrator Cui Xiaofeng was also present.
Mr. Song said that CAAC attaches great importance to aviation safety and security and always put safety first. In recent years, China’s civil aviation security has remained stable on the whole, and the transport scale has increased significantly. While providing a wider range of air transport services, CAAC has continuously improved the security management level of civil aviation operation. CAAC values its long-term cooperation with ICAO and will fully cooperate and support the group in carrying out this aviation security audit. It is hoped that through the ICAO USAP-CMA audit, CAAC will further improve its civil aviation security level.
The ICAO USAP-CMA audit is an important measure to test the capacity of Contracting States in their management and regulation of civil aviation security. It aims to comprehensively evaluate the national aviation security regulatory system and its compliance with the relevant annexes to the Convention on International Civil Aviation. From September 11, the ICAO security audit group will conduct a two-week aviation security audit in China.
