On September 13, CAAC Administrator Song Zhiyong and Venezuelan Transport Minister Ramón Velásquez signed the Air Service Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Relating (ASA) which was witnessed by President Xi Jinping and Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros. So far, China has signed inter-governmental air transport agreements with 131 countries and regions.
The agreement serves as the fundamental legal basis for the establishment of air connectivity between China and Venezuela. Its signing will lay a legal foundation for the development of civil aviation relations between the two countries, facilitate the launch of flights and air routes and conduct of commercial cooperation between the two countries, and help promote business cooperation and personnel exchanges between China and Venezuela and between China and Latin American countries.
