During the Global Sustainable Transport Forum (2023), Song Zhiyong, Administrator of CAAC, said in his speech at the thematic session on "Ecology First - Accelerating Green and Low-Carbon Transformation of Global Transport" on the morning of September 26 that green and low-carbon transformation of transport not only meets the requirements of the times for the change of the global transport governance system, but also will give a fresh impetus to the high-quality development of the world economy and society. China is ready to work with other countries to deepen cooperation in transport, actively participate in global transport governance and promote the green development of global transport.

Addressing the keynote session, Song Zhiyong said that China's transport industry has been taking active measures to strive to meet the needs of economic and social development and people's mobility in a sustainable and green manner. China's transport industry has developed guidelines and periodic roadmaps of energy-saving and carbon-reducing development, and is promoting energy-saving, emission reduction and low-carbon development in transport; has changed the way resources are used in transport to promote intensification and recycling of resources; has practiced the concept of green development in the transport industry and resolutely fought the battle of pollution prevention and control; and has promoted the coordination of transport infrastructure with the red line of ecological protection, and the strict implementation of the ecological protection and restoration system.
