Song Zhiyong Meets with U.S. Ambassador Burns and Attends China-U.S. Aviation Cooperation Program Reception01/12/2023
On November 21, Song Zhiyong, Administrator of CAAC, held talks with U.S. Ambassador Nicholas Burns, and attended a reception hosted by Ambassador Burns at the embassy for the China-U.S. Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP). The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on implementing the consensus and vision reached by the leaders of the two countries at the San Francisco summit meeting, pushing for a substantial increase in flights between China and the United States, and strengthening cooperation in various fields of civil aviation.
In his speech at the reception, Song said both sides should follow the vision that President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden laid out in the San Francisco summit meeting and open up new prospects for China-U.S. civil aviation cooperation. CAAC welcomes U.S. aviation-related enterprises to operate and develop in China and jointly create a brighter future for the global aviation industry. Ambassador Burns, in his speech, expressed his confidence in a more successful China-U.S. civil aviation cooperation, following the agreement reached in San Francisco to promote and strengthen dialogue and cooperation in various fields.
Established in 2004, the China-U.S. Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) serves as an important channel and platform for exchanges and cooperation in the field of civil aviation between China and the United States. Cui Xiaofeng, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, attended the meeting and the reception.
