Starting from December 1, the Protocol Supplementary to the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Seizure of Aircraft (Beijing Protocol) will officially take effect in China. The Beijing Protocol is one of the first multilateral treaties named after a Chinese city since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The ratification of Beijing Protocol signifies an important step in comprehensively implementing Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and his important instructions on work related to civil aviation safety. It also represents a crucial move to strengthen international legal protection for civil aviation safety.
