On May 29, the Third CAAC-EASA Aviation Safety Conference, jointly organized by CAAC and EASA, was held in Xiamen. The conference focused on implementing the consensus reached at the China-EU Summit, further deepening China-Europe civil aviation cooperation, and facilitating safe aviation development in China and Europe. CAAC Deputy Administrator Hu Zhenjiang and High Representative of the EASA Executive Director Luc Tytgat attended the conference and delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Hu Zhenjiang also made closing remarks.
At the conference, keynote speeches were made by representatives from Xiamen Airlines, Airbus, COMAC, Safran, and AVIC. Representatives from CAAC, EASA, and aviation enterprises, focusing on the themes of aviation safety, innovation and development, engaged in discussions on topics such as the mitigation of risks, addressing of operational challenges, the landscape of general aviation and Urban Air Mobility (UAM), standards to ensure safety and efficiency, and drone integration in China and Europe. A series of consensuses were reached during the conference with fruitful results, marking major progress in China-Europe aviation safety cooperation and contributing to higher aviation safety standards and international civil aviation safety capacity building.
Before the conference, Hu met with Luc Tytgat for an in-depth exchange of views on China-Europe aviation safety cooperation. They also witnessed CAAC issuing the Type Validation Certificate for the Safran Aneto-1K helicopter engine. During his stay in Xiamen, Hu also visited Xiamen Airlines, Xiamen Airport, HAECO Xiamen, and the Xiamen Safety Supervision and Management Bureau, and chaired a seminar on aviation safety.
